Fall 2013

Well summer is over and we are off and running into the next season. The pumpkins are starting to make an appearance and the trees are starting to show some change of color, my favorite time of year. The fabrics for the season are also in full swing, as well as some fun patterns for the season as well as for gifts for Christmas. Read on and stop in and see what is going on at the shop.

FALL BLOCK OF THE MONTH

This year we are going to go to the fall season and a little more on the primitive side. It will go over the next year, so by next fall you will have a great accent for your room, done in those warm fall colors, pumpkins, sunflowers stars and flowers all to make a house warm and inviting for the cooler season. Kit and pattern will be $18 a month and can be picked up anytime on first Saturday of the month or after, starting in October. Call 262-723-1213 to reserve your kit.

SCRAPBAG MYSTERY –FIRESIDE COZY

Here is a challenge for you to use up your scraps. If your basket of scraps is overflowing, now is your chance to get it down to a manageable level and end up with a great lap size quilt in the end. Most will be made from smaller pieces and a larger sashing to put it together. The challenge is to use your smaller scraps, of all kinds of colors. If you are a beginner this will be a great way to learn how to work with triangles. Patterns are free and will go over a 6 week period every Saturday starting in October. Let’s see how you do with getting rid of the stash and be surprised at what you can make.

HEXIE CLUB

How many of you have been caught up in this very fun addiction? If you haven’t tried it, now is your chance. There are so many things that are now being made with these or used as an embellishment on lots of projects. Starting in October we will meet on the second Friday of each month at 1 PM to work on “Hexies” or other shapes that you choose and see what you can come up with to make with the stash of pieces. If you need ideas I’m sure we can come up with plenty of things to show what all the possibilities are. So bring this very portable pastime to work on and join in some great conversation with people who enjoy working with their hands, or just stop in to see how it’s done. New members welcome at any time. Any questions just call 262-723-1213.
