Late Summer 2012

Greetings, I think we will all remember the summer of 2012 as one for the record books, for that matter the whole year, last winter was just as strange.  As we all pray for rain that we so desperately need, as well as a few rain dances we all are keeping busy, quilting, since there is no lawn to mow.  I am growing a great crop of Queen Anne’s Lace, it makes you wonder how weeds do so well in a drought…  As for the quilting world time marches on, fall and Christmas fabrics are in.  The fabrics and patterns will get you going and we all know it’s never too soon to start getting those projects started.  Fair time is also just around the corner so those projects should be ready, soon…  or as my kids used to tell me, mom there is lots of time, judging isn't until tomorrow afternoon.  Good luck to those who are entering. Now for what is coming up soon.

IN THE WORKS:

Look for a new Block of the Month to start in the fall called COMFORT AND JOY.  This will be a Christmas quilt for next year and it will have all of the favorite things in it that will remind you of the season, snowmen, gingerbread men, Santa, angels, just to name a few.

The other quilt is a row quilt called WE CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN.  Four rows, 3 of which are winter scenes of a winter day along with the snowmen we see in yards throughout the season.

More details of both of these will be in the fall newsletter, but I thought you might want a heads up.  Stop in and see a picture of both and have some fun during the winter season.
