Midsummer 2011 Newsletter

Summer has arrived and it is in full swing. I can’t believe the 4th of July has already come and gone. This summer is a busy one as usual, why we always think we are going to have all this extra time is something I will never understand. As for the shop, the switch has already been turned to fall and Christmas. The seasonal fabrics have been coming in and they are just beautiful, so it isn’t too early to be thinking of gifts for the season ahead. Stop in and take a look.

Bonnie Blue Cotton Club Bom

Each month there will also be a bonus project that will come with the pattern. Fabric kits with pattern are $22 a month. The quilt is 78 X 83. Call or stop in to sign up and reserve your kit, as there is limited availability. Shop #262- 723-1213. Cotton Club will start in September and kits will be ready on second Saturday’s of the month. Join the fun; we can always learn something new when making quilts.

Fall Embroidery & Tinting

Learn how to crayon color tint your stitchery before you do your stitching and add some real punch to your pictures. This picture is of a witches boot with bittersweet vines and a pumpkin head, great for the fall season. This is an all day class, so bring a lunch or we can order out. Kit is included; all you need to bring is a pair of scissors. Thursday, August 11 at 10:30. Come and learn a great pastime and be able to make some gifts for family and friends. Call to register.

                      Happy Quilting,

Triangle Swap Results

On June 29th we had our first swap meet and had great results. With 20 women turning in half square triangles I had over 4000 of them, needless to say they were all over the place. We had a great mix of colors and patterns so I think all will have no problem using them in a variety of projects. Anyone wishing to see some of the things that I made with my triangles stops in and take a look so you can see what can all be made of some of your leftovers. We will do it again and will also do it with strips or charm size blocks any suggestions let me know.
