SCRAPPY PLATES SWAP

DIG INTO YOUR SCRAPS
What kind of plates? Dresden plates. The plates will be done in a mix of all kinds of colors with a cream center, they are not hard to do. We will be exchanging just the plates and a charm for the middle of the plates. The night of the exchange I will show you how to appliqué them on the background blocks, which will be a color of your choice, as well as the sashings and borders. I think with all the methods of appliqué putting them on the blocks should be the method of your choice. I will also have some other ideas on how to lay them out if you so choose. Stop in and see some I have made and join in the fun and get rid of some of those scraps that seem to grow when we turn out the lights.

Ruler, point turner and directions, $12 given at time of sign up.
You will be making 12 plates with a charm square for center of each plate pinned to it.
Stop in for more details, or call 723-1213.

SCRAPPY PLATE SWAP
Plates are dresdens, and these will be done in all kinds of colors. This is a great time to dig into the scrap bins and see what you have various colors. I will ask that you use quilt shop grade fabric only. It is only right that you get back what you give and that is good quality fabric, thank you. Directions will be provided with the ruler with the procedure on how to make a

Dresden, it really is not hard.
You will be exchanging 12 dresden plates, the blades will be in colored prints but you will probably be putting them on a cream background so I would stay away from creams that you would not see on a cream background. Just keep that in mind.

Materials needed:
  • If you are using bigger scraps you will need about 20 – 30 pieces 4 X 21 or scraps to make 240 blades. I will have kits if you so choose.
  • When done making the plates using the directions press well and pin a cream charm square to it. You are now ready for the swap.
  • Please turn in your plates on or before Saturday, June 22.
  • Swap night is Wednesday, June 26 at 6PM at the shop.

Hope you have as much fun doing this as I did, see you then.
