Winter 2012

Fall is just about here, I think, the way this year has gone I think we are more than ready for a change.  The heat this last summer was something we are all ready to say goodbye to, and believe it or not I am ready for some rainy days.  I think the fall/winter season gets us ready to get warm by quilting and to start thinking of the gift season and fun decorating.  There is never a shortage of projects here at the shop so come and see what is new and pick out something to make, and don’t forget to put something in the crock pot so your meal is ready, and you can sew.

NEW BLOCKS OF THE MONTH

New for the end of the year, and something to be ready for next winter are two new quilts.  WE CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN  is a  row by row quilt and will go over a 4 month time period and will be appliqué in fabric and wool.  You can do any method of appliqué you wish.  It is 3 rows of winter scenes that we all think of as a kid and a snow day from school when all those wonderful snow people get built, as well as a row of stars and words WE CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN, at the top.  Kits and pattern are $57 a month, or pay for all 4 months and get a 20% discount.

The second block of the month is a Christmas quilt, something I have always wanted to do.  The title of this one is  COMFORT AND JOY.  The title kind of says it all, for 10 months you will do blocks that will remind you of all the holiday seasons you have experienced.  Angels, gingerbread men, snowmen, Santa, candles and holly, it has it all. Pieced blocks are the fillers around the appliqué blocks, all done in rich holiday colors.  Applique is done in any method you choose.  This will be a quilt that will be a holiday tradition to be brought out every year and admired.  Kit and pattern are $20 a month or pay for all 10 months and receive a 20% discount.

These blocks of the month will start in November, first Saturday’s of each month.  Sign up soon and reserve your kit.  Stop in and see the quilts, they are both on display.
