Winter 2013

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I am in high hopes that 2013 will be better tomorrows for all of us.  I am sure it will not stop any of us from quilting, that is what keeps our sanity… right?  Have a great year.
Just a few things to get the year off to a good start, classes will start up at the end of the month, after the winter sale.  Also starting in February on 3 Friday afternoon will be an information meeting on three subjects that I get asked questions about, can you guess what they are?  This is something a beginner as well as a seasoned quilter can learn or contribute to.  Read on and stop in for a visit.

WHY AND HOW DO I DO THAT????

This is a set of three afternoon meetings that will answer some of the questions I often get asked about quilting, how to square up half square triangles, the ever frustrating flying geese, where did my points go?  What to look for when buying a new sewing machine, and when I get it what kind of needles do I use, and when?  Leftovers, what do I do with my scraps?  What can I make with them, how do I organize them?  Handwork, how do you start the blanket stitch, how to work with wool, how many strands of floss for embroidery, how do I stabilize and hide my threads?  These are just a very few of the questions that will be covered.  This is great for someone who is just starting to quilt or does handwork of any kind, but it is also for someone who has sewn for sometime but has never been told why you follow the steps you do.  You can always learn something no matter how long you have been sewing or how young or old you are.  Join us for some answers.  Here are the dates, the class is free, just call and let me know.  723-1213.
