Winter 2018

Welcome 2018, I guess we all know how fast time goes the older we get, and how true that is. 2017 ended with a bang for me. The last few years it has been my husband having surgery but this year it was me on Dec. 21. So this year our holidays were a bit different. I was the one taking it easy, and believe me I could get into that real easy!! It sure is a blast watching grand-kids and Christmas.
Now I did get some stitching done while I was home, along with building some hard puzzles. We will be starting a new Block Of The Month in February called, “From The Heart”, as well as having some workshops on handwork. The winter sale will be a little later in the month just because I wasn’t sure how fast I could do certain things after surgery. Check out the new list of fabrics coming in now thru April, after that it will be the holiday fabric. So stop in and take a look. See you soon.

  • January 31 thru February 3
  • 20% off fabric and books
  • 20% Pre cut ½ and ¼
  • Patterns buy 2 get 1 free
  • Sale does not include, kits, wool, mini charms, charms, layer cakes, jelly rolls.

This new block of the month is such a happy quilt. It is a great spring and summer quilt that is done in reds, creams, greens, tans and a few other colors. It is applique that can be done by hand or machine. I did mine by machine and it went quick because of the larger blocks. It will chase the winter blahs away in no time!! The finished quilt is 58” x 70”, it will go for 9 months, $23 a month. Starting on February 10 you can pick up the kit and first pattern and from then anytime on the SECOND Saturdays of the next 8 months. Please call ahead and reserve your kit ahead of Feb. 10, so we know how many to make up and get patterns for. Thanks 723-1213 Here’s a sneak peak of some of the blocks.

So here are three opportunities for you to try some handwork, which is all portable and will be something for those long winter days and nights to snuggle in to do. Please call and let me know so I know how many to be ready for. Thank you. 723-1213

Tuesday, February 13 at 1:00 $25. Kit included

Looking to try a new pastime? This one that I have found to be a lot of fun. Dig into your scraps, you know the ones you don’t know what you are going to use them all for? You will watch a picture come to life and learn how to change a quilt into something stunning as you embellish it with vines or shapes. It is a whole new world and it can all be done while you watch TV or visit with someone or travel in a plane or car. Give it a try!!

Wednesday, February 28 at 1:00 $28. Kit included.

This is another one of those addicting things that is hard to put down once you start. Learn how to take shapes and sew together by hand and make your own mosaic. It only stops when you stop it, and it is a great way to also use those scraps we have sitting in a box or should I say tub, or tubs. You will make a center for a mug rug and how to attach a border.

Tuesday, March 13 at 1:00 $38. Kit included.

Learn how to get started with bringing a lot more color into your pictures with crayons and floss. How and why you use interfacing behind your pictures, the different stitches to use and how many threads to us when you do them. The question most asked is what order do I do these steps in. We will do a picture and get you started so let’s get started.

Just a heads up, State Shop Hop dates are June 8 – 30. This is a great time to get a little traveling done and see all the shops throughout the state and see just how different we all are. Quilting can take so many paths it is fun to see where they can all lead and meet fun people along the way. So mark your calendars. See you hopping or before.
